Beans –“vegetable meat”

Beans are legumes ( family Leguminous). Beans are an important economic crop grown mainly for their seed which is rich in protein. Beans are a vegetable, but contain the valuable protein that is often associated with meat. This makes them an ideal alternative to meat for vegetarians or for those who want to limit intake of meat products

Beans  as well as the  green pods, have a  good taste, high calorie,  because contain protein and vitamins. Beans are one of the oldest cultivated and one of the newest health foods.The   green pods   contain   sugar, starch and vitamins. The  beans seeds contain 20-30% protein, which is  presented of the  essential amino acids. The digestibility  of the  beans  is close to the   meat and fish. The  digestibility  is about  86% (more  than  in   peas and lentils). The  beans contain almost all of the amino acids, so it is named a concentrate of essential amino acids, in particular lysine, a lot of them, which is especially necessary for a young body. The unique combination of fibers, carbohydrates and vital nutrients make beans a premier source of nutrition.

The  beans  and   green pods  contain pro vitamin A (carotene), complex vitamins B, B1,  C. The vitamin PP is much more than bread. Also contain vitamins B2 and B6, a lot of vitamin B1, which regulate the balance in the body of carbohydrates, fats and water.

The content of calories (336 calories per 100 gram dry beans), beans  much more 1.5 times  by bread,  more  3.5 times by  potatoes , and more 5 times by  cabbages. Beans is a treasure trove of many minerals and vitamins. In beans  about a quarter is the protein, which by its nutritional value is  than  more many variety meats. Beans contain a lot of iron, potassium, magnesium and others nutrients. In particular beans useful as a food product for people who turned forty-year  of his life. Doctors  recommend  to eating  of beans  twice a week.   Beans protein digested by the human body on the  80%.

Beans  is  used to make different dishes: soups, stuffing, condiments, side dishes, pies  and   for diet   foods.   White varieties of beans are used  for soups and   color- for main dishes and snacks. A portion of beans can be highly beneficial for  health and there are variety of bean dishes that kids might like to indulge in also giving them all the essential nutrients.

Beans are high soluble fiber that helps reduce cholesterol. Beans, with their soluble fiber and low glycemic index, slow the rise in blood sugar after a meal, making beans a great choice for people with diabetes. Beans have also been shown to reduce the risk of breast cancer due to the presence of flavonols,  phytonutrients which are found in many plant-based foods including beans.
